The CT5 Cadillac sports sedan is a standout. It is roomy, with plenty of convenience features, fantastic driving dynamics and it exudes class and styling.
\u00a0\u00a0 We certainly hope sedans will make a comeback and we would put our vote in for this luxury car. There is a lot to be said for this 3.0L twin-turbo Vo-6 engine (optional; the standard is a 237-hp turbocharged four cylinder) with 10-speed automatic transmission). The brand\u2019s award-winning suspension system allows you to go over potholes easily and take curves with a little extra power and confidence. The midsize sedan features a signature double-pivot McPherson-type from suspension and a five-link independent suspension, which improves road isolation and driver feedback while adding to the car\u2019s excellent feeling of control. Overall, the steering is responsive with precise pinpoint control that adjusts quickly to the road.
\u00a0\u00a0 We drove the Premium Luxury trim model, which featured ambient lighting, illuminated exterior door handles (so useful), blind-spots monitoring and power lumbar support for front seat passengers.
\u00a0 \u00a0 Cadillac gets top marks for rebranding itself from a\u00a0 flashy blob into a competitive, hip brand with stylish, comfortable vehicles that handle well and serve perfectly as the favored family vehicle. To start with the CT5, is good looking \u2014 slim, unfussy, eloquent shield grille, LED headlamps, tail lamps and rocker extensions. Inside it offers plenty of space, bucket front seats with 42.4 inches in the front,\u00a0 37.9 inches in the back and a cargo volume of 12 feet.
\u00a0 \u00a0 Of course this 10-speed automatic transmission car is more than just looks. It is packed with infotainment and safety features including wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto, heated and ventilated seats and a 10-inch diagonal HD color touchscreen and enhanced personalization standard. For those needing to be plugged in, there are there USB ports, SD card reader, two auxiliary power outlets and 4 LTE Wi-Fi\u00ae Hotspots.
\u00a0 \u00a0 Safety features include HD rear-vision camera, Safety Alert Seat and Front Pedestrian Braking. Put this all together and it\u2019s aa fantastic option for those wanting a luxury midsize car that gets reasonable gas mileage (21 MPG combined). Then, when you realize it starts at $40,000 it\u2019s a bargain; however, the car we drove had $10,000 or so worth of options, bringing the price to\u00a0 $51,500, still budget friendly.
